What's happening?

Electricity is generated by different means.  It can be solar, nuclear, fossil or water powered.  Once generated, electricity travel through wires to buildings.

For electrical devices to work they must be connected to a source of electrical energy.  Most often the connection is made through a plug into a wall outlet.  Some electrical devices are wired directly to the power source coming into the building.  These devices, such as overhead lights, are most often controlled by switches.

The removal of electricity can impact the lives of people.  For example, in the olden days people did not have electricity, which made their lives very different from ours today.
