Explore your yard, lawn, garden, etc., and look for plants that may not be wanted. What plants do you see? How many unwanted plants do you see? Are these weeds? Why are the plants unwanted?
While wearing gardening gloves, pull the weeds out (try to get as much of the root as possible). Use the shovel if necessary.
Look at the parts of the plant. Where are the leaves, the stems, the flower, the root, etc.? Why do you need to remove the root? How big is the root?
A weed is a plant that grows someplace where we don\'t want it. It has nothing to do with the type of plant it is.
A dandelion is a common weed that is very hardy and difficult to get rid of.
When pulling weeds, be sure to get all of the root so that it doesn\'t continue to grow.
Weeds take moisture and nutrients away from the plants that you want to grow, that is why removing them is beneficial.
