Why does STEM matter?

Science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) represent more than a list of traditional fields of study, it represents a powerful way of looking at the world. STEM helps us enjoy the wonders of everyday life, participate as informed citizens, and tackle the biggest challenges confronting everyone around the globe. STEM encompasses knowledge, ways of looking at and solving problems, and skills such as critical thinking.
