About me

I was born/grew up in: Born in a little island called Maurituis and moved to Canada when I was young

I completed my training/education at: HBSc, University of Toronto, Certificate in Project Management, University of Toronto, Master of Public Health (MPH), Brock University.

What I do at work

I am responsible for developing marketing tools and communication strategies that can help physicians to determine the best treatment options for their patients.

My career path is

I did not expect to be working in the pharmaceutical industry when I was in high school. I enjoyed science and went to university where I completed an Honours Bachelor of Science with a minor in French.  While I was in university, I worked in research labs. There I improved my practical lab skills and learned necessary science research skills.

I applied for a job with Amgen in the area of safety and regulations. I worked there for a year before moving into a position where I was part of a team that monitored the side effects of Amgen’s medication to ensure that they remain safe and effective. In that role I worked with Health Canada to ensure that Amgen remained compliant as a drug manufacturer. Now I am working in marketing and communications where I can use my skills and knowledge to create resources that explain how our medications work. I’m still learning new things on the job and look forward to the next opportunity.
