I love everything on two wheels…
In my career it has helped me a lot to have the big picture in front of me; thinking not where I will be next but where I want to end up in 10-20 years. Then I make choices according to the big picture. In this way, I am always taking steps that will move me in the direction of where I want to end up. This includes being flexible in what I will do next as long as it fits with the long term objective and where I will live next. For me this has meant that in my career, I have lived in five countries and I have learned six languages. The other important thing is to get training in an area where there will be jobs in the future.
Develop your own big picture plan and understand that science is preparing you for that future.
I was born/grew up in: Lugano, Switzerland
I now live in: Toronto, Canada
I completed my training/education at: Zurich, San Francisco and Lausanne
I like helping people. In this role, I have the ability to improve people’s lives and to help members of our team meet their career goals. This career is right for me because it allows me to extend my scientific thinking and skills to everything I do.
I studied to be a scientist, which means I learned to apply scientific methodology in the work I do. This means I make decisions using scientific data, analyzing future trends, and managing people not based on feelings but on hard data.
