STEM Storytime – The Science of Sound
Join Let's Talk Science Outreach to read J. Jean Robertson's book, "Charlie's Harmonica" and complete a hands-on science activity about sound!
In this activity, students will explore different characteristics of a sound using everyday household objects. Students will then create their very own popsicle harmonica.
For this activity, students will need:
- 2 popsicle sticks
- 2 small rubber bands
- 1 large, thick rubber band (alternative: paper)
- 1 toothpick (alternative: straw, paper/cardstock)
Please join us for our weekly STEM Storytime series on Tuesdays at 1pm ET in English! If you cannot make it to a live session, feel free to register and you will be sent a link to the recording afterwards.
You can find upcoming listings on the events section of the Let’s Talk Science website: https://letstalkscience.ca/events?type=storytime.
