Project Overview

In the Clothing4Climate project, students explore the environmental impacts of our clothing system. This online educator guide offers suggestions on how to facilitate this project-based learning experience with students. These materials include reproducibles, assessment suggestions, and learning activities that accompany the youth website.

The youth materials do not require registration to access and for informal educators and youth groups those could be all you need to run a successful and engaging project. Informal educators are welcome to register for this course to gain access to the full Educator Materials, for the school/school board related questions just put “none” and fill in the rest of the questions as you can.

Outcomes

The student outcomes for the Clothing4Climate project are:

  • Students will identify the environmental impacts of our clothing system and choices.
  • Students will choose an action that helps to address these environmental impacts by changing their own habits or influencing the habits of others.

Learn more about how to assess actions on the Assessing Actions page.

Format

The educator materials are organized around the curriculum-connected “Learn” topics, including Climate Change and Water Systems. Each guide includes lesson plans for the Start, Choose an Action, Learn and Share sections of the project.

Guides also include reproducibles and assessment suggestions. Here are some examples of those:
