How to Use this Project

How to Use this Project

Clothing4Climate is a project-based learning experience. It can be used with a whole class or as an independent project. This project takes a minimum of 3-4 hours of class time. Additional time will be needed for students to complete their action projects independently.

You can support student participation in this project by facilitating discussion and activities and by providing time and resources for students to develop their own actions. Students use the Clothing4Climate student website and the materials in this educator guide to create and implement an actionable plan as they learn about the environmental impacts of clothing.

C4C Project Steps

Technology Options

The Clothing4Climate student website has been designed so that students can use their own or shared devices and work at their own pace. Suggestions for alternative ways to implement an activity are given for when individual devices are not available.

1:1 Devices

Ideally, students can access the website and reproducibles on individual devices (computer, tablet, or phone). 1:1 devices can be used in virtual, in-person, or hybrid settings.

Projector

The web pages can be shown to the class using a projector. If you use this method, student volunteers could click through the web pages or interactive activities for the class.

Flipped Classroom

You may choose to use this approach if students have access to technology at home, but not at school. First, students could explore the website at home. Then, in class, you could facilitate discussions about what students have learned and students could plan and work on actions.

Tools for Online Student Interaction

Online tools such as Flipgrid and Pear Deck can help increase student engagement and interaction. Paper-based alternatives are provided if you would rather not use these tools. If these tools are new to you, click the following links to learn more about how to get started.
