Celebrate National Volunteer Week with us!
Volunteers make a difference. Our volunteers motivate and inspire youth to enjoy, understand and pursue science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
From April 19 to 25, we celebrate National Volunteer Week with organizations across Canada. What we do would not be possible without our dedicated volunteers who go above and beyond to spread their love of STEM. This year, we also celebrate the resiliency our volunteers have displayed – continuing to contribute to STEM literacy in creative ways such as online volunteering and developing new activities.
From Inuvik, NT to St. John’s, NL to Windsor, ON, you can feel the impact of our nearly 4,000 volunteers on the communities they reach. Through Let’s Talk Science Outreach, online volunteers, career profiles or sitting on our Board of Directors; our volunteers are diverse and have collectively impacted approximately 1 million youth and educators across Canada.
Curious what our volunteers love about working with Let’s Talk Science? Here’s what some of them have to say:
“Let's Talk Science has allowed me to grow as a person and come out of my comfort zone. I've met such an amazing group of people and it gives me a rewarding feeling after every outreach.”
“Let’s Talk Science has allowed for my development in a number of ways. My experience with this organization has shaped me into a better student and a better individual. My experiences have further allowed me to realize my true aspirations.”
“Volunteering has allowed me to gain and strengthen a variety of skills such as interpersonal leadership organizational and time management skills. Personally, it has also been a stress reliever allowing me to engage and enjoy myself in something I am extremely passionate about.”
Let’s Talk Science volunteers dedicate their time to a variety of tasks, including:
- Presenting outreach activities in classrooms and at community events
- Writing articles and resources
- Preparing materials for workshops and activities
- Editing online content to keep it up-to-date
Above all else, our volunteers create a positive and memorable learning experience for children, youth and educators. Thank you to all of our volunteers for your dedication and passion!
