From April 19 to 25, we celebrate National Volunteer Week with organizations across Canada. What we do would not be possible without our dedicated volunteers who go above and beyond to spread their love of STEM. This year, we also celebrate the resiliency our volunteers have displayed – continuing to contribute to STEM literacy in creative ways such as online volunteering and developing new activities.

At Let’s Talk Science, volunteers have always been at the heart of our organization. It is with heavy hearts today that we acknowledge the loss of a number of those volunteers and partners from our post-secondary sites across Canada in the plane crash in Iran earlier this week. These individuals were active members of our Let’s Talk Science outreach programs, and their loss is a loss to the entire STEM community – in Canada and around the world.
