Be inspired by these amazing women in STEM

Have you ever thought about having a career in STEM? Now is a great time to do so! Canada is a world leader in many STEM fields and has many career opportunities that are STEM-related. From health science and artificial intelligence to clean energy and sustainability, there are so many to choose from. As technology advances, the need for skilled people in STEM has never been more important.

However, if you are a woman, having a career in STEM is not as easy as it sounds. There continues to be a gap between men and women when it comes to STEM jobs. For example, in Canada, only about a third of the people with STEM degrees are women. And women only make up about a quarter of the people working in STEM. If you think this gap needs closing – you are not alone!

Helping people see themselves in STEM is an important first step, so that is why we wanted to showcase some profiles of women who are involved in the cutting edge of STEM work, research, and education!
