Volunteers in classroom

Whether it’s inspiring discovery in a classroom, preparing activities behind the scenes or communicating advancements in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through writing articles – our volunteers make an enormous impact on the lives they touch. This past year, they’ve reached over 300,000 youth and contributed an amazing 55,000 hours.

The work Let’s Talk Science does would not be possible without the herculean efforts put forth by our volunteers. During National Volunteer Week (April 7-13) we want to thank our volunteers for their contributions to STEM education and for spreading their passion for science outreach across Canada.

Curious what our more than 3,500 volunteers love about working at Let’s Talk Science? Here’s what some of them have to say:

“Being able to use my knowledge of science to teach others has not only helped me gain confidence in what I know but allowed me to apply my knowledge and engage others. I have loved science since a young age and being able to see how excited the kids get with the activities is inspiring.”

“It has been a great experience having a passion for science and being able to teach kids and get them excited about it as well. It is truly an incredible thing to be able to do.”

“Volunteering with Let's Talk Science has opened my eyes to the never-ending opportunities available in STEM fields. Working with Let's Talk Science has led me to discover my passion for leading activities and uncovering new discoveries as well as engaging with children. This has sparked me to explore the field of education throughout my university career.”

Volunteering with Let’s Talk Science has a positive impact on children, youth and educators as well as the volunteers themselves. We’re proud to support and encourage the work they do, from coast to coast to coast.
