Let’s Talk Science President Dr. Bonnie Schmidt named Specially Elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada

On September 11, The Royal Society of Canada and its Members announced this year’s new Fellows, and named the incoming class of The College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists.

Let’s Talk Science President and Founder, Dr. Bonnie Schmidt is honoured to be named one of this year’s Specially Elected Fellows for her efforts in science education for Canadian youth and educators.

For over 25 years Dr. Schmidt and her team at Let’s Talk Science have provided free programs and resources to educators and youth, making science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning accessible across Canada. They have mobilized more than 26,000 volunteers and impacted 6 million youth and educators from coast to coast to coast.

Dr. Schmidt and other 2018 Fellows and Members will be welcomed into the Royal Society of Canada this November, in Halifax, during their Annual General Meeting.
