Celebrating National Volunteer Week 2015

News | April 12, 2015 | Share on:

It’s National Volunteer Week and that means one thing: a huge round of applause for our incredible Let’s Talk Science volunteers!

VolunteersThanks to our current volunteers and network of alumni, we’ve been able to engage over 3 million Canadian youth and educators in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) learning for over 20 years. From coast to coast, they’re inspiring our country’s youth and removing barriers to STEM futures – and we couldn’t be more proud.

This year, our Let’s Talk Science staff have prepared a special video greeting to show our volunteers just how much their dedication and talent means to us – check it out!

Our volunteers are a diverse and multi-talented group of people, from post-secondary students and industry professionals doing in-person and online outreach to our Board of Directors who help guide our strategies and goal planning. Each one of our volunteers is working to bring STEM to life for Canadians. In fact, our staff members also spend their free time volunteering with us!

Celebrate with Let’s Talk Science during this week-long recognition of our fantastic volunteers. We’ll be posting daily volunteer features on our Featured Volunteers page – giving a snapshot sampling of who our volunteers are and why they love what they do.

On Wednesday, April 15, our volunteers, alumni and friends will be showing their Let’s Talk Science pride by wearing our official blue t-shirts for our 2nd annual Let’s Talk Science National T-Shirt Day! Follow along and join the conversation on social media @Let’s Talk Science and using hashtag #Tee4V.

Let us know why supporting youth STEM engagement is important to you! And of course, if you see someone in a Let’s Talk Science T-Shirt – be sure to thank them for all they do. Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, we’d love to see you show off your Let’s Talk Science spirit!

On behalf of all the children and youth Let’s Talk Science engages in Canada, we thank our volunteers for their time, energy, leadership and inspiration. Together, we’re inspiring futures.
