Let’s Talk Science brings technology resources to classrooms through #ICT4All

With Canada Learning Code Week coming to an end, Let’s Talk Science is continuing to support digital literacy in the classroom with information and communication technology (ICT) resources.

On June 8, the Information and Communications Technology Council’s Canadian Leadership Taskforce on Education and Skills announced a new resource called #ICT4All. The resource is an online database of tools and resources available for educators, giving them access to leading-edge ICT resources that support digital literacy and engage students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Let’s Talk Science President Dr. Bonnie Schmidt is the taskforce chair and the #ICT4All database includes a variety of Let’s Talk Science resources for Kindergarten to Grade 12. Organizations, educators and all Canadians interested in the ICT industry are also invited to submit their classroom tools and resources to the #ICT4All database.

By 2021, ICTC forecasts that Canada will need 216,000 ICT workers. The #ICT4All resource is the first step by the Canadian Leadership Taskforce on Education and Skills to strengthen digital skills for young Canadians and ensure Canadian youth are ready for the ICT jobs of the future.
