Further to the Annual General Meeting of Let’s Talk Science, held December 19, 2023, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Dr. Bruce Archibald will assume the role of Chair effective immediately. He will take over the role from Hilary Foulkes, who will transition to Vice-Chair at the same time.

Bruce Archibald joined the Let's Talk Science Board of Directors in 2017 and became Vice-Chair in 2023. With extensive experience serving as a Deputy Minister in both the Ontario and Federal Public Service, Bruce brings a wealth of experience and knowledge related to government relations and the Canadian Science, Technology & Innovation ecosystem.

With this transition, the Board would like to recognize the significant contribution Hilary Foulkes has made to Let’s Talk Science since joining the Board of Directors in 2013. An avid and vocal supporter of inclusive STEM education for children and youth, Hilary has helped guide the organization through significant change and growth. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership as Board Chair since 2016 and the Board is deeply grateful for her many contributions to Let’s Talk Science.

The Annual General Meeting was also an opportunity for members to elect two new Directors. Joining the Board are retired Chief Superintendent and CEO of the Winnipeg School Division, Pauline Clarke and Craig Wellington, Executive Director of the Black Opportunity Fund and an accomplished diversity, equity & inclusion consultant.

“We are pleased to announce that Pauline Clarke and Craig Wellington have joined our Board of Directors,” said Bonnie Schmidt, President and Founder of Let’s Talk Science. “Both bring deep experience in education, inclusion and social impact to the Board and will bring valuable insights to guide our work.”

Celebrating 30 years of inspiring, educating and innovating through STEM education, Let’s Talk Science looks forward to a bright future engaging children, youth and educators to thrive in a complex and rapidly changing world.
