[LONDON, February 13, 2024] – Let’s Talk Science proudly announces a visionary gift of $1.25 million from Amgen Canada Inc. to extend its long-standing partnership and shape the future of STEM education in Canada. This contribution will propel the Inspire - Educate - Innovate Campaign   toward its bold goal of raising $30 million in three years and celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Let’s Talk Science.

Through this generous donation, Amgen Canada is championing the power of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education to ignite curiosity and innovation in the hearts and minds of children and youth across Canada. Amgen's commitment ensures that Let's Talk Science can continue providing engaging STEM programming and resources, free of charge, fostering a love for STEM while encouraging youth to develop the competencies they need to become creative problem solvers and critical thinkers.

“Amgen Canada supports initiatives that raise the value of science literacy, attract bright young minds into the field of science, and improve access to science resources for teachers, students, and the community at large,” said Ugur Gunaydin, Vice-President & General Manager at Amgen Canada. “As a National Visionary Donor for the past 15 years, Amgen Canada drives awareness of STEM education, offering both financial investment and volunteer time for a range of programs, reaching millions of youths and mobilising tens of thousands of volunteers. It is a privilege to be able to continue to inspire the next generation of scientists.”

As a pioneer in STEM education, Let's Talk Science seeks to remove barriers for all children and youth aged 3-17 in Canada. In celebration of its 30th Anniversary this year, Let’s Talk Science has set a visionary goal with the Inspire - Educate - Innovate Fundraising Campaign which aims to raise $30 million over three years, ensuring that STEM programming and resources are accessible to every child in Canada.

"This significant gift from Amgen Canada allows us to deliver on our mission of creating a future where all children can reach their full potential through STEM education," said Bonnie Schmidt, President & Founder of Let's Talk Science.  "Together, we are shaping a better tomorrow by inspiring, educating, and innovating for the benefit of generations to come."
