Media Literacy - Credibility where it counts

News | November 2, 2018 | Share on:

Video is a powerful medium for learning. Whether it’s helping spark a conversation, teaching a concept, or reaching a student who’s a visual learner; video has a strong impact.

However, not all video content is created equal. It takes a critical eye to determine what is credible and relevant. On top of that, the mass of videos grows daily, making it even harder to choose what’s right for you and your classroom.

We know your time is precious – so we’re here to help!

Let’s Talk Science has teamed up with Vubble, a video curation service that combines the power of artificial intelligence (also known as AI) and human journalists to assess video content and rank its credibility before posting. YES, actual humans watch the video for you and rank the materials so that you don’t have to worry about your students learning a “new word”. Another great thing about Vubble? The content is searchable, sorted by topic, and updated daily.

November 5-9 is Media Literacy week in Canada

This Media Literacy Week, practice your critical thinking skills – read local papers, watch our curated Vubble videos, find contradicting points of view, develop an argument for something you don’t believe in – challenge yourself and your students to go above and beyond when it comes to critical thinking and analysis so we can all become better scientists and citizens.
