(Moncton, NB) On November 11, 2015 the Let’s Talk Science team welcomed Université de Moncton as our 42nd national Outreach site.

“We are very excited to welcome Université de Moncton to our expanding network of Outreach sites” said, Isabel Deslauriers, Manager, Let’s Talk Science Outreach. “We`ve had demand from French-language schools and teachers in New Brunswick and other parts of Acadia. Université de Moncton is an ideal partner to reach out to them. We look forward to providing opportunities for Université de Moncton students to further their engagement in science outreach and develop communication and leadership skills through their participation.”

Recruitment of a Let’s Talk Science site coordinator at the Université de Moncton is currently under way. All Let’s Talk Science Outreach coordinators and volunteers are offered professional development and training opportunities to enhance employability skills. Every year, coordinators are invited to regional and national conferences where they’re given the tools necessary for success in their local Outreach programs. Coordinators also develop leadership, communication and teaching skills while taking advantage of the opportunity to network and collaborate with industry professionals and like-minded individuals.

If you are interested in becoming a part of a national community that has excited, inspired and engaged over 3 million children, youth, educators, and volunteers since 1993, please contact Isabel Deslauriers, Manager, Let’s Talk Science Outreach for more information on how you can become involved at a Let’s Talk Science Outreach site near you.
