After the presentation, do the following activity to demonstrate how fragile the brain is and how one needs to protect it during physical activities.
- Create a “helmet” for your egg to protect your egg when dropping it from about 3+ meters.
- Test box without the egg and observe how it travels through the air and how it lands. List observations.
- Place egg in box and see which groups “brain” will stay protected
Discovery
The brain is one of the most important organs in our bodies and controls everything we do. However, most people know very little about the brain and are unaware of the effects our lifestyle can have on its health. This lesson will teach students more about the awesomeness of the brain and how we can keep it healthy and functioning optimally.
The egg drop activity shows how we should protect our brain at all costs, and why wearing a helmet is important when participating in some activities.
