Inspirational Moment: When I went to school, I did not have access to something like Let’s Talk Science, so it’s inspiring to witness smiles on kids’ faces, watching them have fun doing science activities, and their valuable feedback makes me super excited. I remember last year when I did Feast for the Senses with lower grade kids, and after the activity, I asked whether they had any questions for me and one student came to me, hugged me and said, “I want to be like you and want to teach in a fun way like you do.” The teachers and kids liked us so much that they requested us to revisit them. All such moments always inspire me to keep continuing my volunteering work.

Favourite Let’s Talk Science volunteering activity: It’s really not easy to pick just one as I have enjoyed doing all the activities during my school visits. But the activity I like the most is Bright Lights.

Why do you volunteer with Let’s Talk Science?: I joined Let’s Talk Science because I was looking for an opportunity to interact with school kids and share my knowledge with them. I had fun teaching school students, and this volunteering work gave me a wonderful classroom experience.

Fun fact: I remember the first activity I did, I was wondering how I would be able to handle small children, whether they were going to listen to me or just make fun of me. But the experience was quite exciting, and their response helped me in developing my confidence.
