“I love leading classroom activities, but I am particularly inspired by the impact a mentor can have through a consistent longer-term relationship!”

Time volunteering with Let’s Talk Science: 3 years as a volunteer, 2 years as a site coordinator

Area of study: Biomedical Engineering

Inspirational Moment: At the end of the school year, a student I had been mentoring through Let’s Talk Science said she felt much more prepared and confident to pursue STEM studies in her senior years of high school and beyond. I love leading classroom activities, but I am particularly inspired by the impact a mentor can have through a consistent longer-term relationship!

Favourite Let’s Talk Science volunteering activity: Experiencing the different densities of cold, warm, and salty water in the Physics of Sailing.

Why do you volunteer with Let’s Talk Science?: I volunteer with Let’s Talk Science to encourage kids to get excited about the world around them!

Fun fact: I have knitted over 25 pairs of socks.
