Sharmila Gunasekaran
Sharmila gets inspired by seeing students become more and more comfortable with asking questions about science!
Time volunteering with Let’s Talk Science: 2 years
Area of study: Ph.D. in Mathematics. My area of interest is mathematical physics. More particularly, I work on black holes and Einstein’s equations.
Inspirational Moment: It is always inspirational to see students ask questions without any hesitation. It is wonderful to see them excited about science to a point when hesitation doesn’t interest them any longer!
Favourite Let’s Talk Science volunteering activity: Exploration Mars
Why do you volunteer with Let’s Talk Science?: In addition to communicating science, Let’s Talk Science events are a great way to encourage more students to “raise their hand” and “go to the blackboard”
