Time volunteering with Let’s Talk Science: 1 year
Area of study: Bachelors of Science, majoring in Biology and will graduate with a certificate in Indigenous Health Studies!
Inspirational Moment: Every activity I have been part of has had a lot of high-fives and smiles which is the best. The idea of opening a door for youth into the world of STEM really makes me happy!
Favourite Let’s Talk Science volunteering activity: I really appreciate activities that are ecology related, but our site has a fun activity where we make ice cream with liquid nitrogen!
Why do you volunteer with Let’s Talk Science? I volunteer because I come from a small reservation (reserve) community in the United States and the thought of having Undergrad students coming into a class to bring fun, hands-on activities is amazing to me! I love the thought of creating an opportunity for other youth to participate and get lost in the awesome world of STEM!
Fun fact: I was on the University’s wrestling team for 3 years, and finished with a silver medal at the national championships in my last two years.
