Frog
Lexie and Lennie the squirrels

Join Lexie and Lenny to read Lesley Sims’s book, “One Little Frog” and complete a hands-on science activity about the life cycle of frogs!

In this 45-minute activity, students will learn how tadpoles become frogs. Students will use everyday household items to build a hungry frog craft.

For this activity, students will need:

  • One green or white paper plate (to make the frog’s body)
  • Construction paper: Red or pink (to make the tongue), green (to make the legs), black (to make the eyes) OR white paper and markers or paint of the different colour
  • Glue or tape (to put all the pieces together)

Please note that the colours listed above are only suggestions! Frogs are not always green. Students can use any colour they want or have available.

This activity is targeted at students in early years to kindergarten. Older students may still enjoy the activity and book, but may find part too easy and may need some adjustment to stay engaged.

Join us for our weekly STEM Storytime series on Tuesdays at 1pm ET in English! If you cannot make it to a live session, feel free to register and you will be sent a link to the recording afterwards.

You can register for upcoming sessions or access on-demand STEM Storytime events on our STEM Storytime Page
