I completed my training/education at: Bachelor of Science (Theoretical and Mathematical Physics), The University of Winnipeg; Master’s (Physics), McGill University.
What I do at work
I teach young minds about physics and statistics. I make sure they get to have hands on activities such as working with circuits and launching small pebbles in projectile motion. Problem solving is a big part of what I teach since physics and stats has a lot of math involved.
My career path is
When I was in high school, I wanted to become an English teacher. I learned to teach directly from having to teach in various classroom settings.
I am motivated by
I enjoy teaching in a room full of people. It feels like a theatrical performance of sorts. I get to share ideas about math and physics that I love the most. I beleive in the importance of a growth mindset when it comes to learning. I share this with my own students. I always liked theatre as a young child, so teaching gave me the opportunity to perform every day!
How I affect peoples’ lives
I pass on scientific knowledge to students so that they go on to do great things. I kindle student's interests in the sciences and encourage them to pursue their dreams.
Outside of work I
I enjoy cooking and baking quite a lot. I take drawing classes for fun. Recently I've learned how to crochet.
