Learn About My Career

I provided leadership and support to staff and students in publicly-funded Catholic education.

I was born/grew up in: Born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

I now live in: Lethbridge, Alberta.

I completed my training/education at: Bachelor of Arts in Human Geography, University of Saskatchewan; Bachelor of Education - Secondary Program, University of Saskatchewan; Master of Education (Special Education),  Flinders University; many professional development courses throughout my career.

I provided leadership in a Kindergarten to Grade 9 school setting. I supported programming in core subjects, special education, fine arts, STEM, complementary courses, and co-curricular activities. I was very involved in problem-solving and decision-making with students, staff, and parents. In my last school, I led a staff of 60 and a student population of 700.

After high school, I attended the University of Saskatchewan. I didn’t grow up thinking I would be a teacher. My path took me in that direction. Once I was in education, I quickly took leadership roles. I enjoyed the responsibilities of being a school leader. Like any career, I had failures. I approached failures as adventures.  They gave me a chance to learn from my mistakes and grow professionally.

Every day was new. I truly enjoyed the daily interactions with students, staff, and parents.

Being involved in Catholic education was very fulfilling. I made a difference in the lives of students and enjoyed supporting the staff.

I enjoy sports, especially hockey and golf. I enjoy going for walks with my dog. I also enjoy spending time with my family and travelling.

Teaching and school leadership is an excellent career to pursue. It's hard work, but you can make a difference.
