Learn About My Career
Guy G. Térault is the director of education/CEO of Sun West School Division No. 207.
I was born/grew up in:Laflëche, Saskatchewan, Canada
I now live in:Red Deer, Alberta, Canada
I completed my training/education at: BEd at U of Calgary, MEd at U of Saskatchewan, EdD at U of Toronto
I manage an organization with a budget of 64 million dollars that has over 800 employees, 41 schools spread over an area of 32,000 square kilometers. Technology is a huge factor in providing supports to teachers and students as we move towards having students much more involved in managing their own learning. Understanding how to implement technology into your learning plans is a key ingredient!
I did not know what I wanted to do in high school but believed that education was very important. I have since realized that learning must be a life long activity. I have continued to learn my entire life and will continue to do so even though I have a Doctorate in Education.
Having an opportunity to establish 21st Century learning environments for our students is a huge satisfaction for me!
Education of today's youth will determine how prosperous our society will be in the future. Education is one of the major factors in determining one's satisfaction in life.
My main focus outside of my career is being with my family. I enjoy helping my son and daughter who are at university. My son was a hockey player and now studying to be a medical doctor while my daughter is learning to be a Pharmacist.
Understand that learning has to be a life-long activity.
