Learn About My Career
Dhruv Verma is a Business Analyst with a focus on Technology & Projects for Canadian Tire Corporation.
I was born/grew up in: India
I now live in: Brampton, Ontario
I completed my training/education at: Masters in Manufacturing Management (BITS Pilani, India), Graduation in Mechanical Engineering (Punjab Technical University), Certificate in Data Science (University of Toronto)
During the day, I work as a Business Analyst. Then I do in-home tutoring in the evening. In my job as a business analyst, I do a number of different tasks. My main role is to work with business leaders to help identify the types of information they need to make decisions. After we collect and analyze the data we collect, I will work with the business leaders to look at the changes that can be made to improve the efficiency of the business and add value. These changes can be in how things are done, the way products are made or how new software or hardware can help. When I recommend changes, I have to balance them against what the financial costs are and the potential benefits.
In the evening, I tutor students up to Grade 12 in math and science. I try to make the learning meaningful and fun. I enjoy using my knowledge of math and science to help them succeed at school.
I graduated from one of the top engineering institutes in India. I have completed my mechanical Engineering and Masters in manufacturing management. I also have several certifications, which helped me shaping my career. My engineering background helped me gain jobs in different businesses. I took on different roles and developed my management skills. Later on in my career, I realized my passion for teaching. I’m happy that I get to do two things that I enjoy!
Working with learners and for learners is very much fulfilling for me. During the day I work in the corporate world but the teaching I do on the side more fulfilling than my primary job
I love helping kids learn and do well in their life. I try my best to help them identify what they are good at, so that they can decide their future course of action. I put myself in their shoes and that is how I can feel what they need.
I enjoy teaching I am firm believer in continuous learning. I keep myself engaged in learning new skills and reading self help books.
Have an attitude of giving and helping.
