This activity explores the structures of plant and animal cells via a dramatic skit, a matching activity, and creating a 3D model.

In this activity, students will test different "alien soil samples" for signs of life.

Students have the opportunity explore different ways that animals insulate themselves to stay warm in winter by testing different insulating materials in ice cold water (e.g., fur, cotton balls, foil, thermal sock, etc.).

Students will do a variety of activities listed on their "Summer Time Bucket List" and try to check off as many activities as possible over the course of the summer break.

Read "Greg's Microscope" and learn about microscopes by building your own.

Students learn about pandemics, coronaviruses and vaccines and then design a vaccine using information on the SARS-CoV-2 virus structure.

Students learn more about the diversity of animals through a card game.

Students will learn about some important structures found in the human body’s nervous system along with their functions.

Students build a bee from foam balls and pipe cleaners to learn the anatomy of the bee, make a proboscis to "eat like a bee" and learn the bee waggle dance.

Students learn about butterfly biodiversity, build a butterfly biodiversity mobile from simple materials, and watch a clip from the Carleton University butterfly show.

Students build a life cycle of a butterfly and then watch a 10 minute clip from the Carleton University Butterfly Show.

Students complete a modification of the blood role play through the heart that the national office developed years ago.
