Earth & Environmental Science Volunteer Activities

Students will do a variety of activities listed on their "Summer Time Bucket List" and try to check off as many activities as possible over the course of the summer break.

Many of these activities are also a good time to learn about the science behind the activity.

What You Need

Materials per child:

  • 1 "bucket list" sheet
  • 1 pencil or pen

You will need various other materials for most of the activities. These materials can be collected at your own discretion as you choose which activities you would like to complete.

What To Do

After printing off your bucket list, do as many of the activities as you can during the summer break and check them off once they're complete.

Ensure that you are using proper safety equipment and procedures for each activity, where applicable. For example: wear a life vest if you go fishing, wear a helmet if you go for a bike ride, practice good hygiene if you make a smoothie, etc.

You will do various summer-time activities which can have teachable moments about physics, biology, human health, the weather, and many other areas of science.

You can add your own bucket list items, or include a requirement to learn about the science behind each activity where applicable.
