An introduction to the requirements for life, adaptations, habitats, and conservation.

Workshop Objectives:

  • To discuss the essentials for survival
  • Examine how habitat affects animals
  • To identify eco-friendly methods of life

This virtual outreach activity is split into a pre-activity document (workshop overview and list of materials with preparation instructions for both the volunteer and educator), a post-activity document (extra information and resources for the educator after the activity), and a PowerPoint presentation with presenter notes to help lead the workshop virtually. Also included is a Resources document with background information for the workshop.

2: Build a Bird Model

Moldable materials: playdough, modeling clay or aluminum foil

 

If no craft materials are available, you can bring:

-Paper

-Markers, pencil crayons or pencil/pen

Craft materials: googly eyes, pipe-cleaners, toothpicks, pom-poms etc.
